Bryony

“Being a viola and second study voice student of The Pettman Junior Academy was a crucial part of my journey to becoming a professional musician. The many experiences I had as a student prepared me for my future studies in New Zealand and in the United States. I was fortunate to perform in solo, chamber and orchestral concerts, take part in masterclasses and have regular lessons, attending performance classes every week. The support of Professor Barrie and Maureen Pettman has literally changed my life. I will be forever grateful to them for helping me make my dream come true.”

Emma

“One of the biggest reasons I have been able to come this far to Germany will have to be because of my long term participation in The Pettman Junior Academy. With the regular student concerts and the opportunities to play in masterclasses with visiting violinists helped build my musical knowledge and gave me the motivation to take violin further. I became close with all the students and professors in the Junior Academy and it will always be my second family. Without it, I would not be here today.”

Julienne

“Being in the junior academy has opened so many doors for me. All the lessons, masterclasses and the concerts we had were life changing and a huge help towards my future. None of this would have been possible without the love and support from Barrie and Maureen Pettman. I am here where I am today because of the intense junior academy programme that trained me not only to love and share music but to become a professional.”
