Bryony Gibson-Cornish

Bryony Gibson-Cornish has been one of our the Pettman National Junior Academy’s most successful students.

Originally from Christchurch, Bryony is a graduate of the Royal College of Music, The Juilliard School, University of Canterbury and Pettman National Junior Academy. In 2017, she recorded New Zealand composer Philip Norman’s When Gravity Fails with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra. While at the RCM, Bryony won the Tagore GoldMedal and she now serves as teaching assistant to Andriy Viytovych.

Bryony is the violist of the Marmen Quartet, winners of the 2018 Royal Overseas League Music Competition Ensemble Category. Bryony freelances with many London orchestras and has performed with English National Opera and Royal Philharmonic Orchestra as guest Principal.
