

Stephanie Acraman
Stephanie Acraman is a New Zealand-born singer with a broad background spanning opera, art song, music theatre, and jazz. She has featured as soloist with NZ Opera, Bach MusicaNZ, the Vietnamese Symphony Orchestra, and at the Sydney Opera House and Angkor War Temples (Cambodia). International engagements have taken her to Italy, Dubai, Singapore, USA and Myanmar. Her recordings include releases with ATOLL Records, RATTLE Music, and live broadcasts on ABC (Australia) and Radio New Zealand. She has also premiered numerous new works, including The Prodigal Child by Michael Williams and Voices of Women by Janet Jennings.
Critics have praised her voice for its richness and emotional power. Peter Mechen (Middle C) called it “svelte, seductive,” while Kelley Tantau (Stuff.co.nz) wrote, “Acraman’s voice enveloped and caressed—it was unlike anything I’ve heard recently.” Composer Michael F. Williams described her voice as possessing “extraordinary pathos and an unparalleled expressive range… a true artist in the fullest sense.”
Now based in Australia, Stephanie is Vocal Supervisor at the Open Music Academy – Elder Conservatorium, where she also teaches classical and music theatre vocal technique for the Bachelor courses. Also an experienced stage director with a background in dance, she delivers dynamic ‘whole performer’ workshops and masterclasses. Many of the artists that Stephanie has worked with are now in leading positions around the world, including the Jette Parker and Domingo-Colburn-Stein – LA Opera Young Artist Programs, and international music theatre productions.
